Home remedies used to treat eczema

There are many remedies used to treat eczema which is generally a skin condition that is characterized by minor itchy rashes or acute conditions such as open oozing sores that may require bandaging. In many instances, eczema has been caused by either food or airborne allergies and many people have used creams and pills to treat eczema.
There is however a number of natural remedies that one can use to treat eczema which include the following;

Using chamomile tea
To treat eczema, one can use freshly dried leaves of chamomile to make herbal tea; to make the tea, place some leaves in very hot water and allow steeping for 15 minutes. Use gauze to apply the tea on the eczema, letting it stay for about 20 minutes. This treatment can repeated a number of times during the day.

Using horsetail plant
Horsetail plant can be used to treat eczema by either boiling the herb or about 50 grams of horsetail herb for 10 minutes and then allow cooling. Once cool, sieve the liquid from the solution and add to bath water, preferably in a tub, and bath for 10 minutes.

Aloe Vera gel
Aloe Vera is the most widely used plant for improving skin conditions the world over. This is because the plant contains many compounds that are anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial. It also greatly hydrates the skin and this why it is used to treat eczema.  When using the plant to treat eczema, simply cut a fresh leaf of the plant and apply the gel on the eczema. Leave it on the skin for about half an hour then rinse with warm water.

A mix of juniper berries, sage and thyme
The mixture can be sued to treat eczema by mixing a tablespoon of ground juniper berries with a tablespoon each of sage and thyme into one cup of boiling water. Let the solution cool for about five minutes and drink after meal, preferably after dinner.

Organic carrot treatment

Organic carrots can also be used to treat eczema at home; to use the remedy, boil 3 skinned organic carrots till soft then mash into a fine paste. The paste is applied onto the affected areas and allowed to set for about 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water. The carrots can also be used to make carrot juice to be drunk as a home remedy used to treat eczema. Deficiency of vitamin A is one cause of the disease and hence the use of carrot to treat eczema because it is rich in the vitamin.
