Home toothache remedies are very important in relief from
pain because toothache is one of the worst pains a person can suffer. Anyone
who has suffered severe toothache can attest that it is not an experience that is
easily forgotten.
There are a number of home toothache remedies one can employ
at home when experiencing toothache and not in a position to ingest painkillers
or visit a dentist. These are discussed below;
Vanilla extract
This is one of the most effective toothache remedies; just
applying two to three drops of the extract on the aching tooth provides instant
pain relief.
Clove of garlic
This is a well known example of toothache remedies. One can
chew the clove of garlic or pound the garlic and place in on the aching tooth
to provide relief.
Warm salty water
Among all the known home toothache remedies, this is the
most common. Simply dissolve two heaped teaspoonfuls of salt in hot or warm
water and swirl in your mouth for a long time. The saltiness of the water is not
good for the bacteria that causes the tooth problem and kills them when they
get exposed to salty conditions for a long time.
Alcohol
Any strong alcohol such as whiskey, vodka, brandy and rum
can serve as one of the toothache remedies. This is because the concentrated
alcohol kills the bacteria that causes the toothache and swelling, and provides
relief from pain.
Tea bag
This is a cheap method of the many toothache remedies;
simply take a used tea bag that is still warm and place on the aching tooth. The
chemical compounds in tea numb the nerves and stops the toothache.
Baking soda
Baking soda can be used as one of the toothache remedies and
can be applied in either of two ways; you can coat a moist cotton swab with
baking soda then apply onto the aching tooth or simply dissolve the baking soda
in lukewarm water then swirl in the mouth for some time. The baking soda also
creates and environment that’s not suitable for the bacteria causing toothache
and kills them hence reduces the tooth ache.
Apple cider vinegar
Besides its broad usage at home for other purposes, the
apple cider vinegar can also be used as one of the home toothache remedies.
Soak a ball of cotton with the vinegar and hold onto the aching tooth till the
pain subsides.
Chewing onion because of its natural antiseptic, using a
paste made from equal measures salt and pepper or chewing guava leaves are also
good methods of administering home toothache remedies.
