Home facials are important because they help people save
money that would otherwise be spent on expensive products or paid as service
fee to professionals giving the facial. In simple terms, facials are simply a
variety of treatments or a type of treatment that can be given to the face to
improve the appearance of the skin or to make the skin healthy and beautiful.
The methods may include steaming, masking, peeling and massage among others.
There are many items one can use for home facial. These
include the following;
Ripe pawpaw or papaya fruit
This fruit offers a great home facial because it has enzymes
that repair sun damage, exfoliates the skin and helps diminish spots resulting
from aging. To use the fruit for home facial, simply cut a slice of the fruit
and remove the seeds then save the pulp for eating. What is used is the inside
of the peel which is rubbed on the face, around the eyes, mouth and the temple.
Let is dry for about 15 to 20 minutes than rinse off with lukewarm water.
Oatmeal with honey and olive oil
This combination provides an excellent home facial
especially for exfoliation. To use this method for a home facial, mix one
teaspoon of honey with one teaspoon of olive oil then in separate container
prepare a packet of oatmeal in little water to make it thick. When ready, add
the mixture of honey and olive oil to the cooked oatmeal and allow cooling to
the right temperature then apply as scrub in circular motion on the skin while
avoiding the eyes. When completed, rinse with warm water then pat the skin dry.
This can be done twice a week to achieve excellent results. The oatmeal scrub
exfoliates the skin while honey and the olive oil moisturize the skin.
Steaming
Steaming is also a good form of home facial because it opens
the pores on the skin and helps remove the dirt and bacteria that may fill the
pores. To steam at home, simply pour boiled water in a large container and
slightly lower your face towards the container so that the steam settles on your
face for several minutes. You can then rinse the face with warm water then
apply a moisturizer. The other technique of home facial steaming is simply
soaking wash cloth in moderately hot water, squeezing off excess water then
pressing the cloth on the face repeatedly.
Honey mixed with apple cider vinegar
Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 1 tablespoon of the vinegar
and apply all over the face then rinse off with warm water followed by cold
water. This home facial moisturizes the skin and balances its pH.
