Flu remedies are essential because at least every human being has suffered a flu attack once or repeatedly over the years. Many people even get repeated flu attacks in just one year. Flu is caused by the influenza virus that exists in types A, B and C. The types A and B are responsible for major flu epidemics and one can be immunized against them, while type C causes milder symptoms but has no vaccine. Below are some of the common flu remedies that can be administered at home;

Drinking plenty of fluids
Flu can leave you dehydrated and so it is very important to drink as much fluids as you can. Generally, water is the best fluid among the flu remedies but one can also take fresh juices and other electrolyte drinks. It is important to note that alcohol worsens flu and so are drinks that have caffeine.

Many medical doctors concur with the theory because research conducted on thousands of people has also supported the fact that drinking chicken soup is indeed one of the most effective flu remedies worldwide.

Steam and eucalyptus oil
This is also one of the most effective home flu remedies. For fast relief, place water that has just been boiled in a large bowl or container then add a few drops of eucalyptus oil and cover your head with a towel to trap the steam. Inhale the steam for about 10 minutes with eyes closed so that the steam and the eucalyptus do not harm your eyes.
